king of hell

-----------------------------------------------
The moment the party stepped into the mansion, Ilios was severed from them—as if the very space rejected his presence. The interior was far larger than its outward appearance suggested, with a strange, meticulous architecture that felt more like a maze built for ritual than residence. The place carried a distorted atmosphere, something close to the dread Polnareff felt when Dio kept leading him back to the bottom of the stairs—a place designed to isolate, confuse, and corral.
They encountered a man early on—seemingly just a wounded, normal human scavenger claiming he'd come to loot the mansion after hearing rumors of the owner's wealth. Ilios’ sister recognized him instantly—not as Father, but as the man he once was. Trusting him, they let him guide them deeper into the halls. That is, until they reached the ritual chamber.Inside, Ilios' true body knelt silently at the center of a massive magical circle. The man guiding them stepped in behind and sealed the doors. He dropped the act. He was Father. And he wasn’t motivated by anything so grand as vengeance or victory—just the cruel satisfaction of trapping Ilios in the very place he once tried to flee from both him and hell. The irony was the point.Combat broke out, but Father wasn’t fighting seriously at first. His power was terrifying—an overwhelming hybrid of Eileen’s transmutation and augmentation magic and Ilios’ ritual mastery. He conjured weapons of myth from raw energy, launched pinpoint beams that shredded stone from across the room, and manipulated the battlefield with surgical control. But he wasn’t aiming to kill—not yet. He was playing, testing.Until he saw Gauss. The moment Father recognized the Fate of a Demon woven into Gauss’ being, his focus sharpened. The game ended. He began relentlessly targeting Gauss, something in him awakened or provoked. That’s when Ilios returned.Sensing the shift in Father’s attention—and the danger it posed to Gauss and Egia—Ilios intervened, unleashing his power despite knowing the cost. He poured raw Ki into the fight, forcing momentum back into their hands. In doing so, his physical shell fractured. And beneath it was revealed the truth of Ilios: not flesh, but a humanoid being of pure fire and plasma—the visible shape of his soul, no longer caged. With his power fully released and time running out, Ilios gave Eileen one final instruction: to take Gauss and Egia and escape. He offered a brief, quiet apology. Then he turned back to Father. And in a final act of self-annihilation—he detonated himself, sparing the party from damnation at the hands of delusioned Father.

APPEARANCE

🔥 Body Type 🔥
Honed and sharpened like a chef's knife, Gauss's physique has become larger than ever before. Although he has't grown any taller.. his musculature is notably larger-boasting broader shoulders, a wider wingspan, and meatier arms.
🔥 Features & Attire 🔥
With the ability to change his clothing at will, there's no limit to what he wears-it really chalks up to whatever Gauss feels like wearing. Typically, he sports a comfortable kimono left hanging off one shoulder to let his Soul Arm breathe, or black leather.
He wears a bandana atop his head and beneath it lies a head of medium-length, flowing and fiery hair. After forging a soul-tie with Kosuke and gaining complete control of his All-Consuming Flames, Gauss's hair took on their property. Its kept dormant underneath his bandana and takes on a dimmer hue when he isn't riled up, but can kick up into a lively plume of flames when unleashed.
The arm he lost evolved on its own alongside Gauss's own arsenal, growing visible bones along its musculature-bolstering its durability to an indestructible caliber. An unbreakable soul.

🔥 Personality 🔥
Surprisingly, his tenacious degree of dickheadedness has mellowed out a bit. His mind and tongue have grown sharper, but he's grown content enough with it all to keep his Gauss-ness to 75%.. most of the time.
Loyalty has been a constant in him-regardless of how cutthroat his practices have shown to be at times. Following the illusions Gauss's mind had been put under, staying true to himself and the remaining loved ones he has is sidled up alongside the most important directives in his head.
His lady always comes first.

Hellflame

“A man whose soul blazes as bright as my flames. You too, are deserving of these Hellflames.”

The All-Consuming Flames that once belonged to Kosuke became entrusted to Gauss as the king gradually, and begrudgingly came to see what the human was made of-through his time spent trapped within his body as well as seeing everything Gauss could while put underneath the illusory realm, Gauss's strength was understood. It was through this mutual understanding of one another that bridged their connection between one force of nature to another.-----------------------------------------------
In-depth Hellflame breakdown and Special Moves.

Hungry, biting flames that cannot be extinguished by natural or even magical means. Water, vacuum, lack of oxygen, or even magical/energy suppression can’t put them out.
Gauss's branch of Hellflame can burn concepts, not just matter. They burn energy, ki, momentum, or even the will of an attack.
Boasting complete mastery over these entrusted powers, Gauss can change any part of his body into living flame on command, making physical contact with him severely detrimental. He can use this to ignite enemies, as well as create special limbs and objects from these flames. Whatever his mind conjures-he can forge in flame.

Arsenal Synopsis
-----------------------------------------------

His flames are surprisingly flexible, and misleadingly simple in concept. Hellflame does much more than endlessly scorch an opponent.
In order for the later branches of Hellflame to be accessed the separate branches must be used in order starting from Furnace, to Worldbrand at last. Only after the wheel has made a full rotation can the earlier skills be used.
I. Furnace allows Gauss to summon weapons, both legendary and mundane, forged in the crucibles of Hell. Each weapon is single-use and bound to purpose: swords that cut lies, spears that shatter illusions, etc.
II. Embermarch grants autonomous flame constructs—flame-beasts, duplicates, or “walking fires” that act independently with limited intelligence. They're embers animated by intent, used for scouting, harassment, or psychological warfare.
III. Sinner's Stride lets Gauss teleport through flame — any fire, even a spark, becomes a door. He can appear mid-attack, escape, or shift positioning with deceptive speed. Larger fires let him “drag” others with him.
IV. Brandwright: Gauss can mark enemies with a Hellbrand, a burning sigil that acts like a curse. The marked suffer growing heat over time, hallucinations, weakening defenses — or can be ignited remotely. Works on environments and objects too.
V. Hallowpyre summons a pillar or dome of flame that burns energy and intent. Defensive barriers, ki attacks, or even enchantments melt in contact. It’s a purifying inferno that negates non-physical resistance.
VI. Maw of the Monarch: Gauss temporarily sacrifices part of his own flame/soul to gain a massive power boost, healing, or resistance spike. The more personal the cost, the more potent the gain. Once this branch is active, it starts a slow burn toward irreversible soul damage.
VII. Cindering Halo: The seventh branch of Hellflame, Cindering Halo, is Gauss’s execution wheel — a rotating ring of gravitational fire that orbits his body like a burning command sigil. While active, it asserts Gauss as the battlefield’s gravitational anchor, subtly pulling everything — debris, projectiles, bodies — toward him on his terms.
VIII. Worldbrand: The final branch. Gauss unleashes the true shape of his flame — a brand that carves into the fabric of the world. The ground, the sky, even memory ignites. Permanently alters reality. Once used, the battlefield is forever warped.
The wheel does not rotate in constant motion and can turn backwards - resetting back to the first branch if enough time has passed between battles.
